Politics in Kenya
ith the politics of Kenya the President of Kenya is regarded as both the head of state and the head of government and of a pluriform multi-party system. This marked a turning point in Kenya’s democracy because it transferred peacefully from the Kenya African Union (KANU) which was in power since independence to the National Rainbow Coalition (Narc), a coalition of political parties and it’s ruled by Mwai Kibaki.
Provinces and districts in Kenya
She has 8 provinces which are Coast, Central, Nairobi, Nyanza, Eastern, Western, North Eastern and Rift Valley. Each province is headed by a Provincial Commissioner and they are appointed by the president. She has 69 districts since the 1999 census and these districts are subdivided into 497 divisions. There is a long rain season which takes place from April to June and the short rain season takes place from October to December. There are different cultures in Kenya which include the Swahili that is found on the coast, then the pastoralist communities found in the north, and then also several different communities both in the central and western regions.
